Going-Ons: What We Loved This Week

Posted by Jordan Kushins on

Open Studios. This Weekend. We're so ready.  It's been a whopping ten years that 3 Fish Studios has been a part of this program celebrating local artists creating original art, made in San Francisco, and it's made a massive difference in our business, and our lives. In other words: It's awesome, and we want to celebrate with you. We'll be debuting a brand new collaboration between Eric and our pal Paul Madonna, with super cool ceramics and original art from Annie. Come hang, Saturday and Sunday (October 24th and 25th) from 11am to 6pm! In the meantime, here's a few...

MOTHRA. What a badass bug. She looks damn good in the studio, in all her incarnations.  We're gearing up for Outer Sunset Open Studios--October 23rd and 24th! With Paul Madonna!--and in the meantime are super stoked on the goodies below. Happy Friday! Annie What's making me happy this week is the wonderful people we with work, like Mark Dwight of Rickshaw Bagworks. We had a nice visit to their Dogpatch factory yesterday and took a look at some of the new bags they're making. Our first studio was in Dogpatch, so it was nice to be back in the neighborhood.  Eric...

Welcome to the weekend, friends. We're sending you off on this fine Friday with solid advice from Annie (above), and cool things we dig that we think you might just dig, too (below). Enjoy.  Annie We are gearing up for Open Studios this month--October 24th and 25th!--and I wanted to give a shout-out to Joen Madonna, ArtSpan's executive director. This is Joen and me at an ArtSpan event earlier this year. ...

It happened, people. Mothra finally touched down in San Francisco. Last weekend, the big benevolent bug got steamrolled on Rhode Island Street at the Roadworks Printing Festival, sponsored by the San Francisco Center for the Book. It was an awesome event, and this print is a true monster--the fourth in Eric's Creature Feature series.   (Thanks to Katie Conforti for the vid!) Here's a glimpse at what's been happening in our post-Mothra world.  Annie As a "palate cleanser' between larger projects I like to make greeting cards. I use collage, watercolor, acrylic, and the beautiful leftover printing paper from Eric's...

Goings-Ons: What We Loved This Week

Annie and Eric have been on fiyah with their artistic collaborations this week. On Tuesday, we had our Drink Steam event with Anchor Brewing Company at The Chapel. Lots of beer, *plus* everyone who came got to pull a custom Beer Hug print drawn by Annie and carved by Eric.  And anyone who pops by the studio now can check out this incredible tree (top) that also offers the best of both of their creative worlds. So good. A video posted by 3 Fish Studios (@3fishstudios) on Sep 19, 2015 at 4:21pm PDT And now, without further ado, a few faves to lead into...
