Friday Fish List: What We Loved This Week, 2/12/2016

The end of the week is when Orlie gets blendy. Look at this lady and her ombre inks!

Big news this week is that Eric is *almost* done with a brand-spankin' new linocut, and--spoiler alert--it is going to be so, so, so good. Seriously--just looking at this plate all carved and inked up is enough to get the heart racing. We'll have more about the story behind the design soon--this old bendy tree really exists at the end of Noriega Street--but in the meantime feel free to ooh, ahh, and admire this craftsmanship.

Annie's going strong with her daily doodles--week six, bebes!--and you can still purchase a limited edition print from the series.

And are you following along with #365orliegrams? You gotta follow along with #365orliegrams! Our one and only studio manager is also an extraordinary artist--she has a way with cozy self-portraits, small dogs, and catbutts--and she's also doing a daily doodle series. It's one of the best things on the Internet. Period.

Y'all ready for some Friday finds? I thought so. Here yas go!

Our local pal Pedro Bala had a very good week--named local pro photographer of the month by Surfline! Big deal! Check out his latest uploads (you can also find his work for sale in our studio).

Check out Bound Away by Cake, a unique linocut printing project by local artist Pam DeLuco from Bandmade Books at the Shotwell Paper Mill

Annie

What made me happy this week was starting my Thursday morning with a long wander with my friend Joen in McLaren Park. I hadn’t been there before and it's absolutely beautiful now that the spring flowers are out. A walk and talk with a friend is a great way to start the day. Orlie

This is a collection of the wonderful prints made by my very talented group of beginning printmakers. They all brought in images they loved and turned them into incredible works of art during one of the printmaking sessions I teach here at the studio.
