California Wildfire Relief Fundraiser - 2018
On Sunday, November 11, we woke up to another orange dawn here in San Francisco. The ash on sidewalks and smoky air was a heartbreaking reminder of last year’s wildfires, and we knew we wanted to help.
After a quick meeting with our little team at the studio, we decided to do another fundraiser to help victims of the multiple horrendous fires ravaging our state.
We put together a fire relief bundle featuring our California Bear and launched our campaign on Instagram and Facebook that day. By the end of the day, we had already raised $5,000. By the end of the second day, we had raised over $20,000.
The money kept coming, and by Friday, November 16, we hit our goal of $50,000, and decided to conclude our campaign. We think $50,000 is an amazing result, and as a matter of practicality, our little shop now has to print and assemble all the bundles sold during the campaign. This is going to take us a while, but we’re efficient little elves, and we have set a goal to have everything in the mail by the end of November.
We have already distributed funds to the Woolsey Fire Sudden and Urgent Needs Effort Fund and to the North Valley Community Foundation Camp Fire Evacuation Relief Fund, and we will distribute the rest in the weeks to come. We are so grateful that we live in a place where this kind of effort is supported by so many people. Thank you again for the opportunity to be of service.
We love you, California.
