Friday Fish List: What We Loved This Week, 11/20/2015

Ooooh the sunsets are nice--and way, way early--this time of year. We're keeping warm in the studio with lots of cups of hot tea and coffee; somehow it always tastes better out of a mug made by our neighbor, master potter Larry Letofsky

It was a fun week that kicked off with the 100th (!!!) Sketch Tuesday at 111 Minna. Annie was one of the featured artists, and brought her signature bear hugs and sassy painted ladies out in full force. LOTS of creative folks here--y'all should definitely check this series out, it's really fun.

Here's a glimpse at what kept everyone else jammin':

Eric

"I recently completed this installation of my Kaiju Monster Series at an awesome place in Potrero Hill. I used the money to buy a brand new Le Crueset dutch oven. I love to cook, so now we have something new to experiment with."

[Editor's note: Eric submitted this vid as a late Friday Fish List entry. He laughed so hard he *cried* when he showed it to us.]

Annie

"What I'm loving this week is riding my motorcycle, because it's such lovely clear pre-Thanksgiving weather. Eric got me this Honda Shadow 750 for my 40th birthday. I had a motorcycle all through my 20s and early 30s but I hadn't had one for several years by the time I turned 40. He says it was a terrible gift to get me because he worries about me whenever I ride it, but I love it!"

"A dear friend of mine sends me music every so often, and one of the bands I've been listening to a lot is named Unknown Mortal Orchestra. They're great. They sound like space music underwater with a little funk twist."

I'm obsessed with biscuits. I CAN'T STOP BAKING BISCUITS. Ever since I discovered this simple-as-hell, two-ingredient recipe, it's the only thing I want to make, and the only thing I want to eat. My attempt-at-healthy take subs out the white flour for spelt, and the heavy cream for plain Greek yogurt and you know what? It works! The crazy thing is you can halve or third the recipe and whip up, like, one warm biscuit for yourself on the fly. Incredible. Throw some cheddar in there! Honey and butter! Try raspberries and choco chips! I did, and let me tell you. YUM. Or go full strawberry shortcake and you will not regret it. Enjoy!
