The Golden State has been home for Annie and Eric since 1989 and 1997, respectively, and we are so happy here. Our Home Sweet Home Print is based on an original painting by Annie, and beautifully captures the spirit of California. The bear, a symbol of California's wilderness, embodies resilience and untamed beauty, and the field of California poppies celebrates the richly hued state flower.
We can print up to 44” wide on most of our designs, so contact us for a quote if you need a specific size.
This print, and all the prints in the “I Love You California” collection, are inspired by a sheet music cover illustration from 1913 for the song, "I Love You, California.” In 1987, it became the official state song of California. Annie and Eric discovered the vintage illustration around 2010, and Annie started painting versions of it, surrounding the bear with floral patterns, forests, mountain scenes, geometric designs, etc. the paintings became so popular, we started offering prints of them.
Annie loves to draw and paint, and could easily do it for hours every day. She finds solace and inspiration on the canvas, and also gets through a lot of podcasts and audiobooks while wielding a brush. Her favorite paints are liquid acrylics by Golden, and she buys stretched canvas from Blick. Annie is the artist behind the “I love you California” collection, as well as the 49 Mile Drive collection and the Original Paintings collection.
I purchased this print to gift dear friends who love taking extended road trips, but love to come home to California. The recipients love it! Your prints are always in good taste! Thanks so much for the beautiful work.
Saw this poster at a friend's house and knew I had to get it for our house in France. Also got a second one for my daughter who is born and raised in SF Bay and recently relocated in Brooklyn. She loved it. The colors are vibrant and the hug from the bear says it all.
When I learned that friends of mine were moving to California - I knew I HAD to get this print. As a follower of Annie/3 Fish on Instagram (hilarious and fun, btw) - I loved that I had a wonderful excuse to purchase a print (not that I needed one).
Love! Love! Love!
Born and raised here. Got this happy poster for my kitchen. Printed with nice quality! Wonderful in a black frame!
