Carved and printed by hand, this new print is a study of the beauty of nature, ink, and paper. The subject is an ancient Sierra Juniper, growing on an exposed, dry, rocky slope in the higher Sierra Nevada Mountain elevations just an hour from our home and studio in Amador County.
High Sierra is available as both a black and white print and a color print. The black ink impression is printed by hand from the block on a 22” x 28” hand-torn sheet of Rives BFK paper, while the color version features the same black ink impression overprinting a color background, also created by Eric. This color method is a technique Eric has used successfully over the years, but never to this rich of an effect.
Both the black and white and color prints are limited to an edition of 50 each. Unframed work will ship in 2-3 weeks.
