This beloved tree in Golden Gate Park was removed from Hellman Hollow in October 2025 for safety reasons. A few years ago, Eric was so taken by its beauty that he made a woodcut of it. Hearing that it came down feels especially poignant, but we're grateful to have captured it in print, a small way to keep its spirit alive.
Check out the figure lounging at the bottom - looks like they're a big fan of Green Apple Books. (They're in good company!)
Absolutely gorgeous!
I sent this to a dear friend with whom I've shared many happy times at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival. This tree was next to the main stage. Her response when she received it: "THANK YOU! Perfect gift for me!
The pictures on the website do not do this piece justice. It is gorgeous, with incredible details that must be seen, in person. Great communication and fast shipping, too!
