Sixteen strange beasts. Sixteen California landscapes. One monstrous collection.

Inspired by the wonderfully weird world of Japanese kaiju, Strange Beasts brings legendary creatures from Japanese pop culture into the familiar landscapes of California. From Godzilla and Mothra to King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla, these larger-than-life monsters find themselves among San Francisco landmarks, coastal cliffs, redwood forests, and desert landscapes. The collection also introduces Semperra, Guardian of the Woods, an original kaiju imagined by artist Eric Rewitzer.

Originally created as sixteen individual 8" × 8" hand-carved woodcuts for the FourSquared exhibition at San Francisco's Arc Gallery, this print brings the entire series together in one bold, black-and-white composition. A celebration of Japanese monster mythology, California landscapes, and the timeless craft of printmaking.

Available in three sizes:
